Getting to Know You
At our first meeting, we ask a lot of questions and try to get a feel for the style and cadence of your life. We want to make a personal connection that will help us to understand you, and what your needs are. You need to feel completely at ease with us, too. Trust is a huge component in any relationship, whether it’s business, or personal. We spend an hour asking about how you live in your home, about your entertaining habits, and what your “ideal” is for the upcoming project. We use this information to create a scope of work that fits your vision as well as your budget.
Concept
To develop a concept specific to your needs, we have to address the existing spaces. We measure and photograph the spaces that are being considered for improvement. This allows us to design with the spaces in mind, and use that space to its maximum potential. We bring you some concept boards with ideas, colors, general sketches and textures. We get your feedback and then fine tune the concept board to reflect your wants and needs. This will be the basis for the next phase.
Design Phase
During the design phase we develop scaled floor plans and elevations. We address every aspect and detail of the project. We provide a list of finishes, materials, and any other selections relevant to your project. We present the proposed designs along with pictures and detailed drawings so that you can get a feel for what the space will be after the transformation. We can even provide recommendations for furnishings, accessories, and art placement for your unique new space. Usually there are two or three options within the plans, and we work through those with you, fine tuning them to your needs, and ensuring every detail meets with your vision and budget.
For construction projects we consult and coordinate with the general contractor, craftspeople, fabricators and workrooms to finalize budget and timeline. We can help you work out the product and material costs so you can make informed budget decisions. Our billing process and schedule are clear and concise. Each month you receive an itemized statement with dates and times of what we worked on, and how long we worked on it. We want you to be comfortable with how much you spend on design, and for you to feel like we are good investment. We always tell people that we usually pay for ourselves in all the mistakes, pitfalls and do-overs we help you avoid!
